On 15 March, Cadet Sergeant Dean Richardson was promoted to Flight Sergeant.  Dean is totally committed to the Air Training Corps, and spends his weekends as a gliding instructor at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.

On Parade Nights he is one of the Squadron's main tutors, teaching younger cadets who are working towards their BTEC in Aviation Studies.

Upon receiving his promotion, Flight Sergeant Richardson said "It's a great honour to be awarded a senior rank in the ATC.  It gives me a great sense of achievement to advance so far in the organisation in all aspects.  I wouldn't have thought I would have come this far as a younger cadet."
